Nova Scotia Water Caucus

What is the Water Caucus?

The water caucus is a group of individuals and representatives from organizations that have an interest in water-related issues, including those relating to water quality monitoring, river and watershed health, wetlands, environmental racism, citizen science, education, habitat restoration, aquatic invasive species and water governance at all scales.

Our goal as a caucus will be to provide a forum for discussion and seek opportunities for partnership and collaboration around these issues.

Our vision is that water in Nova Scotia is protected now and in the future.

Our purpose is to create a network of individuals and organizations that are interested in supporting water resource management within Nova Scotia through the sharing of expertise, experiences, knowledge, information, and resources. This network will also serve to facilitate the discussion of issues and the input of water-focused ENGOs in the development of water, watershed, and coastal management strategies and policy.

Caucus Meetings

Meetings are currently held quarterly. At a caucus meeting, you can expect to network and learn about current and upcoming water-related projects, programs and events from across the province. The main purpose of these meetings is to promote collaboration and advance water work in Nova Scotia.

The next meeting will be held on November 13th from 12-1 PM. If you are interested in attending the meeting, please reach out to info@nsenvironmentalnetwork.com to receive the virtual meeting information and a calendar invitation!

Who can join the caucus?

Anyone passionate about water issues is welcome to join! Whether you're a representative from an NGO, an Indigenous organization, a government body, an academic institution, or simply someone eager to make a difference, you are welcome to participate in the group.
